Findbest perspective

The short answer

On August 25, 2026, NVIDIA announced DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction with a new transformer model. The company says it improves reconstruction in ray-traced and path-traced games. This article assesses the announcement; it is not our own hardware test.

Announcement date: 25 Aug 2026

What changed?

Ray Reconstruction processes the rendered image. It does not give characters new dialogue. Support in the game and software still matters.

Who is this relevant to?

For PC players checking image quality in supported games. Inspect the settings available in your particular game instead of comparing version names alone.

What this means for your work

Our suggested comparison: save one camera position, resolution and quality preset. Examine slow camera movements, thin fences, reflections and moving characters. Record frame times alongside your visual impression. Change only one setting at a time.

Limits of this report

Findbest has not collected benchmark results. Manufacturer quality claims are not independent measurements. The source dates from August; check the installed software and game support before comparing.
