Understanding meme coins: what DOGE and SHIB represent
Separate community, token and network: an introduction without price promises.
The short answer
A meme coin combines a tradable crypto asset with a story, internet motif or community. Recognition does not establish economic value. Start by separating the project, its network and the asset being traded.
Dogecoin: its own network
Dogecoin describes itself as an open peer-to-peer digital currency. DOGE is the currency of that network. Buying on a platform and making a network transfer are different activities: fees, custody and availability depend on the route you use.
Shiba Inu: token and ecosystem
The Shiba Inu project website presents a wider ecosystem. SHIB and Shibarium are not interchangeable terms. Check whether an article describes a token, a network or a product. Project announcements are provider claims, not independent proof of demand.
Pepe and Bonk in the overview
Our overview also includes the assets tracked by CoinGecko under pepe and bonk. A symbol is not a unique identity. Similarly named imitations may exist on other networks. Compare the data source, project website, network and, where applicable, contract address.
Not a ranking
The four entries are an editorial selection, not a recommendation. Ask what exactly is being described, where the claim came from and when it was checked. A large audience is no substitute for these answers.
